Religion.
I have no choice but to believe that there is something much bigger out there. Otherwise, there would be no point. Without a purpose my efforts would be wasted. I have faith that my efforts have some meaning beyond my knowledge. The triumphs and the suffering are too big to be insignificant. I know that my learning cannot be the only reason for my living because someday the lessons I learned will be entirely irrelevant. I know I am only a small part of the big plan, but I cannot be meaningless. Each person, every moment has significance. I cannot live with the idea of crying, dying, and being simply forgotten. Everything has some meaning; I am small, but I matter.
