About the Author

I have spent my whole life in New Hampshire; the amazing seafood, wonderful summers, erratic weather, and beautifully crisp autumns made New England the only place I ever wanted to be. When I was younger my dad dragged us all over Maine and Massachusetts by boat; it was amazing. We spent the Fourth of July in Provincetown, MA and weekends at the Isles of Shoals. We ate lobster fresh from the trap, and spent weeks exploring islands in Maine. This summer, my husband and I made the decision to see a lot more of this beautiful state and maybe even the rest of New England, too. Part of this blog will be devoted to sharing that adventure.

I am a student at the University of New Hampshire studying to be a Dietetic Technician. I am passionate about healthy cooking and I want to utilize my knowledge to help people improve their overall well being. I intend on working in the community, rather than in a hospital or fitness center. I’d like to work helping parents and children, or improving school lunches. I’d love to work with individuals as a life coach, helping them start a garden, and teach them to cook. I don’t want to help people just lose 20 lbs by summer, but improve their overall well being, with weight loss as a bonus. I see myself cooking with clients, growing a garden with a kindergarten class, and reaching out to those less fortunate. I’d really like to manage a food pantry, or a soup kitchen someday. I would be happy working with the state’s EBT (food stamp) program if I could truly improve how recipients spend their dollars. Secretly, I would like to be a farmer and I think I will always be working towards that. The truth is that there are a lot of things I would really like to do. Maybe I will do a little bit of everything or maybe I will fall madly in love with the first job I find, and stick with it forever. Today, I’ll start my career as a blogger and I won’t stop until I help someone, somewhere.
