Ever wondered what the difference between brown and white eggs is? Or, what it takes to earn a USDA certification? I have! I found this interesting article online and I thought I'd share it with you! I was particularly turned off by the definition of "free-range" which isn't as noble as it sounds. If you eat meat or eggs, look for the "certified humane" label.

Gado-gado is a traditional Indonesian dish. Essentially, it is a "salad" composed of cold or room temperature cooked vegetables and a peanut sauce. Why didn't I think of that? I love cold, cooked vegetables! It is simple, easy to make, vegan, and gluten-free. Its an easy recipe to alter, too. (I love recipes that are easy to make your own!) If you're allergic to nuts- try making this dish with sunflower seed butter. Use whatever vegetables you want and cook them however you'd like!

Yes, the title rhymed. I apologize if that's lame; I felt a little corny typing it. But, seriously, these tacos are impossible to beat. I love all Mexican food, but I really love tacos. They are messy as hell- especially the way I stuff them until they are over flowing, but they are so good. The future dietitian in me would also like to point out that they are by far the most appealing vehicle for all those vegetables!

This is not a standard breakfast sandwich. I am not about to reveal a disappointing recipe where I cleverly replace regular bread with gluten-free bread. Anyone could do that. I got creative with this sandwich and replaced that crap with a potato latke! This is a messy, knife-and-fork sandwich. It's not light, but it is a really great way to start the day. I firmly believe that breakfast should be the biggest meal of the day. I always start my day with a big meal and end my day on a much lighter note.

Remember this post I wrote about Nutella's misleading advertisements? Well, I wasn't the only one to notice. Here is an article from CBS News about a California mom who won $3.05 million when she sued them for false advertising! Nutella is a great example of the importance of reading labels! Sure, it is delicious and it certainly isn't the worst thing you could eat, but it is not healthy. Perhaps in the future, Nutella will face the facts and market their product as junk food, like they should have been doing all along.

However, my grandmother's version was far from gluten-free. This is not the healthiest recipe on my site, but it is really delicious. I love to keep this mix in my back pack!

The delicious, mini crusts are thin and crispy, while maintaining a soft, chewy texture. The flavor was amazing and the ingredient list was just as impressive. I bought some "homemade" pesto from Terra Cotta Pasta Company at a farmer's market a while back and I whipped together this amazing, summery pizza!

Two healthy things I've always hated: running on a treadmill and eating breakfast. I am a smart girl and I knew it was important, so I found a way to make cardio fun and I turned breakfast into something I love!

I love running, but only when it is sunny, warm and the scenery is beautiful. I don't run in the winter, when it is raining, on a treadmill, or on the side of an ugly highway. Running on the treadmill is boring. So boring in fact that I felt uninspired and unmotivated during my work out. I love strength training, but I felt so guilty if I skipped the treadmill that I avoided the gym all together. When I would push myself to do 10 or 15 minutes on the treadmill I was miserable. So, I quit.
