Ever wondered what the difference between brown and white eggs is? Or, what it takes to earn a USDA certification? I have! I found this interesting article online and I thought I’d share it with you! I was particularly turned off by the definition of “free-range” which isn’t as noble as it sounds. If you eat meat or eggs, look for the “certified humane” label.

Gado-Gado

Gado-gado is a traditional Indonesian dish. Essentially, it is a “salad” composed of cold or room temperature cooked vegetables and a peanut sauce. Why didn’t I think of that? I love cold, cooked vegetables! It is simple, easy to make, vegan, and gluten-free. Its an easy recipe to alter, too. (I love recipes that are easy to make your own!) If you’re allergic to nuts- try making this dish with sunflower seed butter. Use whatever vegetables you want and cook them however you’d like!

Taco “Meat” that’s Impossible to Beat

Yes, the title rhymed. I apologize if that’s lame; I felt a little corny typing it. But, seriously, these tacos are impossible to beat. I love all Mexican food, but I really love tacos. They are messy as hell- especially the way I stuff them until they are over flowing, but they are so good. The future dietitian in me would also like to point out that they are by far the most appealing vehicle for all those vegetables!
